Home Owner Tax Credit For Accessibility Renovations

The City of Pittsburgh Department of City Planning has been working with Pittsburgh’s disability community to make Pittsburgh more accessible and livable for all. Property owners can now apply for a $2,500 tax credit towards their individual municipal property tax from the city and $2,500 from the county.

The tax credit is a way to help with construction or renovations of housing that meets criteria of being accessible for individuals with mobility issues.

“This is a great way to make residential housing accessible for friends and family, make housing livable as residents age, and make the work more affordable,” said Richard Meritzer, the City’s ADA Coordinator.
